HP is looking for an Android Framework Engineer with deep expertise in AOSP internals and platform customization to build robust enterprise-grade Android devices. You will work on designing, modifying, and optimizing core framework components to enable new features, improve performance, and enhance system stability.
What You'll Do
- Design, modify, and optimize Android framework components
- Enable device-specific features
- Improve performance and enhance system stability
- Work on AOSP framework customization
- Develop Android system services
- Implement Binder IPC & AIDL
- Integrate HAL (HIDL / AIDL HAL)
- Update SELinux policies
- Work with the Android Build System (Soong / Make)
- Develop system apps
- Customize SystemUI & Android framework components/modules (ActivityManager, PackageManager, WindowManager)
- Debug CTS/VTS for compliance
- Work in cross-functional teams
What We're Looking For
- Strong expertise in AOSP internals, system services, Binder IPC, HAL integration, and platform customization
- Hands-on experience on Android with a deep understanding of the Android architecture stack
- Strong debugging skills at system and native levels
- Ability to analyze low-level crashes and security logs
- Experience working in cross-functional teams
- Strong documentation and communication skills
Nice to Have
- Four-year or Graduate Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence

- Languages: Java, Kotlin, C, C++
- Tools: Android Studio, ADB, Fastboot, Git, Logcat, systrace, perfetto
- Platforms: Embedded Android, Custom Devices, Enterprise Devices, Linux
