About the Role

The Washington State Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is hiring an Analytics Manager to join its Fleet Operations team. In this role, you will provide critical analytical insights that inform strategic decisions and drive efficiency across a multi-agency fleet program. You will report to the Fleet Operations Program Manager and support the mission of the Department of Enterprise Services (DES) to strengthen the business of government.

What You'll Do

  • Develop detailed analytical reports and forecasts for multi-agency fleet projects.
  • Implement and monitor the fleet data quality program to support all fleet analysis and reporting.
  • Research strategic action items, analyzing fiscal impacts to resolve inefficiencies.
  • Develop and prepare sustainable, complex analysis to support current and future fleet reporting needs.
  • Participate in and support efforts to modernize the fleet program.
  • Conduct analysis on fleet management systems, performing cost-benefit analysis and identifying opportunities for savings.
  • Analyze vehicle utilization, maintenance costs, replacement needs, forecasting, lease rates, and full vehicle life cycle costs.
  • Serve as the primary data and reporting contact, producing reports, dashboards, and visualizations using Power BI, MS Query, Excel, and other tools.
  • Drive the fleet data quality program by establishing data standards, maintaining systems, and collaborating with staff.
  • Conduct research and benchmarking to position DES Fleet Operations as a leader in the Zero-Emission and Alternative Fuel Vehicle segment.
  • Provide recommendations for EV and alternative fuel vehicle applications and perform cost-benefit analysis of emerging technologies.

What We're Looking For

  • Option 1: Any combination of relevant work experience and/or education totaling nine (9) years.
  • Option 2: A Bachelor's degree in business administration, public administration, or a related field AND five (5) years of professional-level experience in business analytics.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite programs, including MS Query.

Nice to Have

  • Education, training, or certification in business or fleet management.
  • Knowledge of Division services, with the ability to locate, interpret, and advise on related policies and practices.
  • Knowledge of Program services, with the ability to locate, interpret, and advise on related policies and practices.
  • Experience with fiscal accountability: responsibly handling public funds, following fiscal guidelines, preparing documents, maintaining systems, and reviewing vendor payments with precision.
