About the Role

TD Asset Management's Real Estate Asset Management team is looking for an Analyst to provide analytical support for our real estate investment portfolio. In this role, you will be responsible for research, financial analysis, reporting, and underwriting, working closely with the Canadian Investment Team.

What You'll Do

  • Assemble economic, market and industry research and conduct trend analysis for various Canadian cities and real estate sectors.
  • Provide analytical support for major new and renewal tenant leases to support negotiations, development, and capital enhancement projects.
  • Assume a key role in completing quarterly reporting, including property-level financials, operations, market commentary, leasing performance, and sustainability initiatives.
  • Assume a key role in preparing annual property budgets and business plans, working closely with third-party managers.
  • Track market leasing, development, investment and other activities using and developing databases.
  • Review and summarize leases to understand key legal clauses.
  • Manage and track the quarterly appraisal process, dealing directly with appraisers and reviewing draft appraisals.
  • Use Argus Enterprise to review property valuation models, underwrite lease deals, and perform scenario analysis.
  • Build relationships with brokers, lenders, appraisers, property managers, leasing development managers and other stakeholders.
  • Provide analytical support for potential dispositions by preparing data rooms and analyzing due diligence information.
  • Prepare investment packages for approval by the Investment Committee.
  • Conduct special projects to understand and present portfolio-level risks and opportunities, such as sensitivity analyses and management fee reviews.
  • Work with other Analysts to support all members of the Canadian Investment Team including Portfolio Management, Asset Management, Transactions, and Development.
  • Support other real estate and alternative portfolio related duties as assigned.

What We're Looking For

  • A minimum of 1 to 3 years of analytical experience in the real estate sector with an operator, investor, or service provider.
  • An undergraduate university degree in real estate, business, math/statistics, urban planning, architecture, or engineering.
