Toyota Research Institute was looking for an Analyst

As an Analyst with the Frontier Fund, you’ll play a key role in identifying and assessing emerging startups at the intersection of deep technology and climate innovation. You’ll engage with the startup ecosystem through events and networks to uncover new investment opportunities, focusing on transformative sectors such as artificial intelligence, robotics, space technology, and advanced materials.

What You'll Do

  • Build relationships across the tech and venture capital landscape to generate a steady pipeline of high-potential startups
  • Conduct technical and market evaluations of early-stage companies to inform investment recommendations
  • Prepare detailed investment memos for review by senior decision-makers
  • Perform due diligence, including competitive analysis and industry research, to validate startup positioning
  • Stay current on technological advancements and market shifts, contributing to regular research briefings

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a clear, thoughtful approach
  • Proficiency with Excel and Google Suite, with a willingness to learn new tools quickly
  • Ability to navigate uncertainty and assess risk in emerging technology spaces
  • Collaborative mindset with a commitment to team-based problem solving
  • Demonstrated curiosity about new technologies and their real-world applications
  • High standards for professionalism and confidentiality

Preferred Qualifications

  • At least one year of professional experience in a technology, research, or investment-related role
