Mediix is hiring an Anaesthetist | Regional QLD

Mediix is hiring a Senior Staff Specialist or Staff Specialist Anaesthetist for a key role in remote regional Queensland. You will deliver essential anaesthetic services across surgery, obstetrics, trauma, and dental procedures as part of a cohesive team in a primary referral hospital.

What You'll Do

• Provide high-quality, evidence-based anaesthetic care across a variety of medical specialties.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient care and outcomes.
• Supervise, teach, and develop junior medical staff and anaesthesia trainees.
• Contribute to clinical governance and participate in ongoing professional development.
• Provide anaesthetic support to other healthcare facilities in the region as needed.
• Participate in an on-call roster to support anaesthetic services.
• Deliver care to a diverse range of patients, including those from isolated and underserved communities.
• Provide training and mentorship to medical trainees, junior doctors, and other healthcare professionals.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives, clinical audits, and safety programs.

What We're Looking For

• Current registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
• Fellowship of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (FANZCA) or equivalent.
• Proficiency in anaesthesia for obstetrics and epidurals.
• Engagement in continuous medical education and quality improvement initiatives.
• Experience working with diverse communities, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander populations.

Nice to Have

• Experience in paediatric anaesthesia (up to 5 years).
• Interest or experience in Intensive Care management.
• Expertise in regional anaesthesia and pain management.

• Competitive Salary: $525,850 - $650,288 per annum (full-time equivalent).
