Hato Hone St John is seeking compassionate individuals to join as Ambulance & Events Volunteers in Kerikeri. In this role, you will provide essential care and support to patients throughout their journey, from initial response to transport or referral, both at community events and on ambulances.
What You'll Do
- Provide care and support to patients through their journey from 111 call to referral, on-scene treatment, or transport.
- Work at community events covering local and international sports events, school fairs, or concerts.
- Commit to regular duty and training (approximately two 12-hour shifts and one training session per month).
What We're Looking For
- A full and clean NZ driver's licence for at least 12 months or completion of an approved NZTA advanced driving course.
- Be 18 years of age or over.
- New Zealand citizenship or permanent residency status.
- A clean police record.
- Ability to pass Hato Hone St John assessments: physical assessment, health questionnaire, literacy and numeracy assessments, and an interview.
- Meet Hato Hone St John medical standards for driving.
- Available for regular duty and training (approximately two 12-hour shifts and one training session per month).
- Desire to help people compassionately and professionally.
- Commitment to continuous learning and training.
- Trustworthy, reliable, with excellent communication skills (written and oral) and great time management.
