Western Digital is seeking an AI Engineering Intern for our Early Career program. In this role, you will design and implement AI models, build data pipelines, deploy solutions, and collaborate with teams to integrate AI capabilities into our products and systems.
What You'll Do
- Design and implement machine learning and deep learning models (such as LLMs, Computer Vision, or NLP) to address specific use cases.
- Build and maintain scalable data ingestion and preprocessing pipelines to ensure high-quality data availability for training and inference.
- Deploy models into production environments (cloud or edge) and manage the MLOps lifecycle, including version control, CI/CD, and model monitoring.
- Optimize model architecture and code for latency, throughput, and cost-efficiency without sacrificing accuracy.
- Work closely with Data Scientists to refine algorithms and with Software Engineers to integrate AI capabilities into core products.
- Stay current with the latest advancements in AI/ML frameworks and emerging techniques to drive innovation.
- Support department activities and work to meet schedules.
What We're Looking For
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or equivalent experience.
Nice to Have
- Cooperative program internship experience is preferred.
