Quora is hiring an AI Engineer Intern to join the Poe team for a 16-week internship beginning in January. You will work remotely on meaningful projects as an equal alongside full-time engineers, receiving dedicated mentorship and weekly 1:1s with your manager.
What You'll Do
- Participate in developing LLM applications including information retrieval, search and discovery, and agentic coding assistants to create smooth user experiences.
- Engage in Applied AI work such as refining prompting techniques and incorporating new LLM capabilities like function calling and tool use to improve outcomes.
What We're Looking For
- Availability for meetings and communication during Quora's coordination hours (Monday-Friday, 9am-3pm Pacific Time).
- Current pursuit of a B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field at a Canadian University.
- Knowledge of Python or C++, or the ability to learn them quickly.
- Knowledge of integrating and deploying LLMs.
- A passion for learning and improving yourself and your team.
- Love of the Quora and/or Poe product.
Nice to Have
- Prior software engineering internship experience.
- Prior applied AI system experience.
- Proficiency in modern backend frameworks like FastAPI, Node.js, Django and/or frontend libraries like React, Next.js.
