Aecon Group Inc. is looking for an EHS Advisor to actively promote and uphold our health, safety, and environmental culture at our Scarborough location. You will be responsible for ensuring all work aligns with the policies and procedures of Aecon’s Health, Safety and Environmental Manual.
What You'll Do
- Drive an inclusive culture to promote equity, welcome different perspectives, and enable career progression.
- Conduct employee health and safety orientations and site-specific safety orientations.
- Train employees in fall protection, confined space entry, traffic protection, WHMIS, respiratory protection, and emergency response.
- Coordinate training programs such as WHMIS, First Aid, Forklift, and Propane.
- Conduct workplace inspections, audits, and behavioural observations.
- Develop workplace plans for emergency evacuations, fire emergencies, traffic control, and fall protection.
- Distribute safety materials and equipment to team members as needed.
- Conduct safety presentations for clients and promote Aecon safety systems.
- Participate in Joint Health and Safety Committees.
- Analyze accident trends and conduct incident investigations.
- Inspect project facilities, recommend corrective actions, and coordinate environmental issues.
- Assist with workers compensation claims and develop return-to-work and modified work programs.
- Mediate health and safety issues for resolution.
- Prepare for and assist with internal and external safety audits.
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience in a Health and Safety role within the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations for Construction Projects.
- Experience working in project-based environments.
- Strong knowledge of other relevant Regulations, including Electrical Utilities Safety Rules.
- Must possess an NCSO designation.
- Ability to work with limited supervision and proactively identify needs.
- A champion of inclusion and diversity.
- Excellent verbal and written communication with strong relationship management skills.
- Adaptable to a flexible work schedule to meet deadlines.
- Valid G driver’s license.

- Compensation range: $70,000-$95,000.
