At Honeywell, we're looking for an Advanced Software Engineer to play a key role in developing and enhancing software for our Building Automation Commercial Security systems. You will impact the design and implementation of technology that ensures the safety and security of commercial buildings.
What You'll Do
- Act as the primary engineering voice in CCB meetings and for field-escalated issues.
- Prioritize, reproduce, troubleshoot, and fix complex software defects through coding and QA completion.
- Propose and implement architectural improvements to take the platform to the next level.
- Collaborate closely with QA, customers, integrators, and internal stakeholders to ensure alignment.
- Provide clear, simplified status updates to leadership and provide reliable progress estimates within a multi-site Agile framework.
What We're Looking For
- 6+ years of professional Software Development experience.
- Proficiency in C++, VC++, or C# with strong troubleshooting skills.
- Solid grasp of Relational Database concepts and experience in MS SQL Server.
- Understanding of MS Windows Internals and MS Windows Development technologies.
- Using AI in day to day activities of software development and troubleshooting and articulating the usage of it for achieving operational efficiency.
Nice to Have
- A positive attitude combined with the ability to influence technical decisions through data and interpersonal skills.
- Expertise in enterprise-scale debugging, reverse engineering, and advanced tool usage.
- Experience in Driver Development and hardware-software interfacing.
- Familiarity with cloud-enabled applications and a diverse tech stack (e.g., Angular JS, Java, Python, Azure).
- Experience with CI/CD tools (Bamboo, Github Actions, GitHub, BitBucket) and source control/bug tracking (Jira).
- Deep knowledge of Test-Driven Development (TDD) and basic cryptography/web security.
- Using AI for developing Unit Test cases.
- Proven understanding of the Building Security product domain and its underlying technology.
