What You'll Do
Guide the evolution of enterprise identity and access systems by leading technical design and implementation across cloud migration, containerization, and modernization initiatives. You'll drive the transition from on-premises infrastructure to cloud-native environments, ensuring systems are resilient, secure, and aligned with regulatory standards.
Take ownership of code quality and system reliability through rigorous testing, peer reviews, and CI/CD best practices. Collaborate with cloud, security, and infrastructure teams to build scalable solutions using microservices and container platforms like Docker, Kubernetes, or OpenShift.
Provide hands-on technical leadership by mentoring engineers, conducting architectural reviews, and supporting incident resolution. Champion secure development practices with a focus on authentication, authorization, and access controls. Represent your team’s work through internal presentations and technical documentation.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree with 7 years of application development experience, or Bachelor’s degree with 5 years, or 9 years of combined education and relevant experience (including at least 5 years in systems analysis or development)
- Expert-level proficiency in at least one programming language, with professional proficiency in a second
- Strong understanding of object-oriented design, software patterns, and modern development lifecycles
- Experience with identity and access management concepts such as roles, permissions, and authentication workflows
- Ability to lead technical discussions and mentor team members while delivering under compliance and risk frameworks
Preferred Qualifications
- Seven or more years of professional software development using Java or C#
- Hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP cloud platforms
- Proven track record in cloud migration, application upgrades, and containerization
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and unit testing frameworks like JUnit
- Background in cloud security, secure coding, and container security best practices
- Prior leadership in senior or lead engineering roles

Work Mode
This role operates in a hybrid model, requiring four days per week onsite at the Buffalo, NY location, with one day available for remote work.
