Lear Corporation is seeking a Senior Advanced Manufacturing Engineer to join our Advanced Manufacturing Engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting cost estimation, leading new product launch activities, and driving standardization and innovation initiatives for our global electronics business.
What You'll Do
- Develop manufacturing processes and related equipment for new electrical components, including SMT, Final Assembly, and End-of-Line Test.
- Lead the cost estimation effort for new and modified business quoting.
- Support the analysis of workforce utilization, space requirements, and material flow, leading the optimization of layout design for maximum efficiency.
- Conceptualize and define necessary specifications for key equipment in collaboration with outside integrators.
- Prepare Requests for Quotation (RFQs), evaluate responses, and provide recommendations for third-party integrators and services.
- Develop materials for and participate in technical reviews with customers.
- Work with Quality and Plant engineers to develop PFMEA, work instructions, and control plans.
- Provide on-site launch support for new program launches, if required.
- Utilize MOST/MTM time study techniques to optimize line design.
- Manage equipment projects from planning through installation.
- Support the upkeep of production line saturation data for SMT and Backend processes.
What We're Looking For
- BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering.
- 5+ years of experience developing assembly processes for electrical component products.
- Experience working with various engineering software, including AutoCAD/Draftsight, Solidworks, simulation tools, Minitab, and the Microsoft Suite.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience working in compliance with IATF, AIAG, and VDA standards.
- Direct experience with MOST and MTM methodologies.
Nice to Have
- Experience in automation, robotics, or high-speed, high-precision assembly.
- Experience in the assembly of electrical components or systems.
- Experience in automotive electronics.
- APQP and PFMEA experience.
