The Admissions Senior Counselor leads recruitment and enrollment efforts for academic programs, ensuring alignment with institutional goals and values. This role is responsible for evaluating applications, conducting interviews, and providing guidance to prospective students throughout the admissions journey.
What You'll Do
Develop and carry out recruitment strategies to attract qualified applicants. Conduct interviews and offer informed counseling to help candidates understand program offerings. Manage internal and external outreach initiatives, ensuring consistent communication across channels. Oversee the admissions workflow for designated programs, including transfer students or specialized academic tracks.
Act as a key contact between the admissions office and academic departments, facilitating smooth coordination. Supervise data collection and reporting processes, using institutional systems to track applicant information and generate insights. Support budget planning for recruitment-related activities, including marketing materials and outreach events.
Delegate tasks to support staff, assign project responsibilities, and may supervise clerical teams. Train new team members and contribute to hiring decisions when needed. Ensure accurate documentation and timely follow-up across all stages of the admissions cycle.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and at least two years of experience in admissions or a related field
- Strong organizational and leadership abilities
- Proficiency with data management systems
- Ability to analyze applicant information and contribute to admissions decisions
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced study in statistics, education, or counseling
- Experience in public relations or student advising
- Background in testing or academic assessment
