About the Role

Vaughan Regional Medical Center, part of ScionHealth, is looking for an Admissions Coordinator to manage the daily coordination of all pre-admission activities and provide administrative support for the patient admission process. This role also carries primary business office responsibilities including accounts receivable management, Medicaid application reviews, and Patient Trust Fund administration.

What You'll Do

  • Coordinate and plan daily pre-admission activities, including coordinating bed availability with clinical leadership.
  • Complete verification of admission pre-certification and insurance benefits.
  • Develop positive relationships and open communication with referral sources including hospital case managers, social workers, nursing staff, physicians, and third-party payors.
  • Participate in team business and referral development committee meetings in coordination with Sales and Marketing Teams.
  • Review and obtain signatures for admission paperwork and forward copies to the business office and medical records.
  • Prepare a variety of administrative reports, statements, and rosters.
  • Perform confidential typing assignments including follow-up letters, spreadsheets, schedules, and quarterly board reports.
  • Assist in answering phone inquiries by taking messages and demographic information on potential referrals.
  • Establish and maintain financial files for all patients related to admission, billing, and collection of accounts receivable.
  • Coordinate, perform, and document the collection of private accounts receivable and past due accounts.
  • Review payment policies with new admissions and their responsible parties.
  • Administer and reconcile patient trust accounts and petty cash.
  • Perform month-end close procedures and prepare and submit all required reports.
  • Conduct job responsibilities in accordance with the Company’s Code of Business Conduct, applicable laws, and professional standards.
  • Maintain all information in a manner that ensures confidentiality and meets all regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in continuing education and professional development activities.

What We're Looking For

  • Three years of healthcare experience.

Nice to Have

  • Bachelor’s degree in a clinical area.
  • Healthcare professional licensure; for example, as a Registered Nurse, LPN, Respiratory Therapist, Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist, or Social Worker.

Technical Stack

  • Microsoft Office suite: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.
  • EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems.

Team & Environment

You will coordinate with clinical leadership, Sales and Marketing Teams, and a network of referral sources including internal and external hospital case managers, social workers, nursing staff, physicians, and third-party payors.

Work Mode

This is an onsite position.
