About the Role

The Department of Consumer and Worker Protection (DCWP) is hiring an Administrative Systems Analyst for the Center for Population Health Data Science (CPHDS). In this role, you will lead the development of internal tools and workflows, serving as the crucial bridge between administrative staff and technical platforms. You will develop user-friendly solutions, automate manual processes, and provide strategic technical support across operational areas.

What You'll Do

  • Develop and maintain custom tools and dashboards using applications within the Microsoft ecosystem.
  • Collaborate with administrative and operations staff to design systems for internal tracking of operational activities such as onboarding, training, procurement, and performance metrics.
  • Partner with the Bureau of Data Technology & Strategy (BDTS) to identify and execute opportunities for modernizing administrative tracking systems.
  • Assist the Data Operations Manager in managing current and future administrative databases, backend systems, and front-end tools.
  • Manage high-level operational reports and compliance dashboards to support bureau-wide decision-making, ensuring alignment with IT and agency policy.
  • Track and operationalize streamlined processes to ensure staff compliance with policies, including the development of automated workflows and monitoring tools.
  • Provide technical liaising and support to programs and bureaus, ensuring administrative tools are secure, integrated, and responsive to user needs.
  • Create technical documentation, workflow diagrams, and other materials to support tool adoption and knowledge sharing.

What We're Looking For

  • A baccalaureate degree including 24 semester credits in computer science or a related field and 2 years of full-time software experience (designing, programming, maintaining applications) including one year in a project leader capacity.
  • OR a four-year high school diploma and 6 years of full-time software experience as described above, including one year in a project leader capacity.
  • OR a satisfactory combination of education and experience equivalent to the above.
  • All candidates must have a four-year high school diploma or equivalent, plus at least one year of full-time software experience in a project leader capacity or as a major contributor on a complex project.
  • Note: Experience in computer operations, technical support, QA, hardware installation, help desk, or as an end user will NOT be accepted for meeting the minimum requirements.

Team & Environment

This position is part of the CPHDS Bureau of Administration. You will work closely with administrative and operations staff and partner with the Bureau of Data Technology & Strategy (BDTS). You will assist the Data Operations Manager.

Work Mode

This is a hybrid role located in New York City. Depending on the position, you may work up to two days per week from home.
