Ellis Medicine is hiring an Adjunct Instructor to join our BSON program as a course team faculty member. You will implement evidence-based teaching strategies for a student-centered learning experience, sharing responsibility for course development, assessment, and program evaluation.
What You'll Do
- Collaborate with the course team and coordinator(s) to develop and coordinate a nursing course or curriculum component.
- Participate in course team meetings and supervise teaching, assuming responsibility for student assignments.
- Design and teach course content, selecting appropriate learning experiences like simulation and interactive activities.
- Supervise and evaluate student learning in class, clinical, skills, and simulation settings.
- Complete weekly student feedback and submit all evaluations to the Course Coordinator within one week at the conclusion of each clinical rotation.
- Adhere to online substantive weekly feedback guidelines and grading.
- Take responsibility for orientation to new course materials and clinical units in a timely fashion.
- Utilize group dynamics to effect change and promote productivity, analyzing situations with problem-solving methods.
- Interact collaboratively with faculty, staff, students, hospital personnel, and community agencies.
- Advise or refer students for academic or non-academic concerns, providing relevant resources.
- Manage student accommodations as defined by the Accommodations Coordinator(s).
- Engage in scholarly activities that promote excellence in faculty practice and evidence-based academic methods.
- Integrate new knowledge from conferences and disseminate information to the full faculty.
What We're Looking For
- Current licensure and registration in New York State as a Registered Professional Nurse.
- A Master’s degree in nursing.
- Two years of recent clinical nursing experience relevant to the instructional area and/or evidence of leadership behaviors.
- Must have reliable transportation for class, simulation, skills, and clinical assignments.
Nice to Have
- Teaching experience.
