Purdue University was looking for an Adjunct Faculty

Purdue University Global is hiring an Adjunct Faculty member for its School of Health Sciences. This part-time, non-tenured position focuses on delivering high-quality online education to students in Associates, Bachelors, and Masters degree programs. Adjuncts can teach up to 3 courses per term, not exceeding 10 per year, and are dedicated to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment.

What You'll Do

  • Provide a student-centered learning environment that enables student success.
  • Teach synchronous or asynchronous seminars (10-week units) as assigned.
  • Maintain school-determined virtual office hours per week for each class.
  • Ensure timely management and response to electronic correspondence from students, administrators, and other university officials.
  • Lead message board discussions and engage students in relevant coursework.
  • Partner with Academic Advisors to address student concerns and refer students for ADA accommodations.
  • Maintain and submit accurate, timely reports for student grades and progress.
  • Deliver mid-term and final grades in accordance with the academic calendar.
  • Enforce student conduct policies as outlined in the University Catalog.
  • Attend university, departmental, and faculty meetings as requested.
  • Remain current with trends, techniques, and technological advances applicable to the program.

What We're Looking For

  • Master's degree in health information management or a closely related field from a regionally accredited institution.
  • RHIA (Registered Health Information Administrator) credential required for core bachelor's degree-level courses.
  • CCS (Certified Coding Specialist) or CCS-P credential required for coding courses.
  • Minimum of three years of professional experience in health information management, medical coding, or a related health sciences field.

Nice to Have

  • Doctorate in a healthcare-related field.
  • RHIT (Registered Health Information Technician) credential may be considered in lieu of RHIA.
  • One to three years of online or distance teaching experience.
