About the Role

Adept Group is seeking a Principal Packaging Engineer to join our team. You will lead multiple complex projects, provide technical expertise for packaging risk assessments, and drive improvements in packaging performance and cost-effectiveness.

What You'll Do

  • Lead multiple complex projects or assignments within large projects with minimal oversight.
  • Lead packaging qualification activities by generating packaging protocols, overseeing test execution, analyzing test data, and authoring qualification reports.
  • Lead the improvement and standardization of packaging on existing products with focus on performance and cost effectiveness.
  • Facilitate the resolution of problems during the developmental process to meet customer needs.
  • Provide technical expertise for packaging risk assessments and failure mode/root cause analyses.
  • Maintain and establish ongoing communication with global counterparts and packaging vendors to support cost-savings initiatives.
  • Influence internal and external stakeholders to achieve strategic, meaningful, and lasting improvement.
  • Identify areas of cost savings or improvements for new and on-market products.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in packaging engineering.
  • 7+ years of full packaging development and commercialization experience across primary, secondary, and tertiary packaging formats.
  • 8+ years in a specific focus area of packaging and/or considered a Subject Matter Expert in field.
  • 12+ years as a Packaging Engineer.
  • Technical expertise in PET, resins, fibers, flexibles, molded packaging.
  • Proficiency in creating technical drawings and specifications.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and MS Project.
  • Must be familiar with C.A.P.E./TOPS palletization software.
  • Advanced understanding of the full packaging development and qualification process (or stage gate process).
  • Advanced knowledge of resource planning for trials.
  • Advanced knowledge of FDA and ISO requirements related to packaging and labeling, ensuring robust package validation and qualification.
  • Advanced understanding of project timeline development.
  • Advanced communications (verbally and in writing) across internal and external teams.
  • Advanced ability to multitask and manage time efficiently and effectively across multiple activities and tasks simultaneously.

  • Advanced degrees or certifications preferred.

  • Salary: $107,000 - $154,000
