Adept Group is seeking a Principal Packaging Engineer to join our team. You will lead multiple complex projects, provide technical expertise for packaging risk assessments, and drive improvements in packaging performance and cost-effectiveness.
What You'll Do
- Lead multiple complex projects or assignments within large projects with minimal oversight.
- Lead packaging qualification activities by generating packaging protocols, overseeing test execution, analyzing test data, and authoring qualification reports.
- Lead the improvement and standardization of packaging on existing products with focus on performance and cost effectiveness.
- Facilitate the resolution of problems during the developmental process to meet customer needs.
- Provide technical expertise for packaging risk assessments and failure mode/root cause analyses.
- Maintain and establish ongoing communication with global counterparts and packaging vendors to support cost-savings initiatives.
- Influence internal and external stakeholders to achieve strategic, meaningful, and lasting improvement.
- Identify areas of cost savings or improvements for new and on-market products.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in packaging engineering.
- 7+ years of full packaging development and commercialization experience across primary, secondary, and tertiary packaging formats.
- 8+ years in a specific focus area of packaging and/or considered a Subject Matter Expert in field.
- 12+ years as a Packaging Engineer.
- Technical expertise in PET, resins, fibers, flexibles, molded packaging.
- Proficiency in creating technical drawings and specifications.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite and MS Project.
- Must be familiar with C.A.P.E./TOPS palletization software.
- Advanced understanding of the full packaging development and qualification process (or stage gate process).
- Advanced knowledge of resource planning for trials.
- Advanced knowledge of FDA and ISO requirements related to packaging and labeling, ensuring robust package validation and qualification.
- Advanced understanding of project timeline development.
- Advanced communications (verbally and in writing) across internal and external teams.
- Advanced ability to multitask and manage time efficiently and effectively across multiple activities and tasks simultaneously.
