VSolvit is hiring an Actuarial Intern to join our expanding actuarial team. This 10-week hybrid program offers hands-on experience contributing to day-to-day operations and key projects with our pricing and reserving actuaries. You'll gain core actuarial knowledge and business acumen, with the potential to be considered for a full-time analyst role starting the following summer.
What You'll Do
- Assist the pricing team in developing and participating in Quarterly Business Reviews with key partners.
- Support the reserving team in underwriting forecasting and analysis of profit shares and cancellation liabilities.
- Build and enhance dashboards for internal and external reporting using Power BI and Tableau.
- Prepare and cleanse data using SQL and Excel to analyze portfolio trends and produce analytical exhibits for ad-hoc client requests.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including Accounting, Finance, Sales, Analytics, Underwriting, and partners.
What We're Looking For

- Proven analytical skills typically gained through pursuing a B.S. or higher in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
- Commitment to passing actuarial exams and pursuing the ACAS designation.
- Experience working in Excel.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team setting.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Nice to Have
- Proficiency in SQL.
- Experience in Tableau, Power BI, or a comparable analytics tool.
