Safe-Guard Products International is hiring an Actuarial Consultant to lead high-impact actuarial projects and initiatives. In this role, you will drive profitable growth and provide strategic thought leadership in pricing methodology and actuarial analytics for the warranty industry.
What You'll Do
- Drive profitable growth among existing clients and acquire new business through strategic pricing and thoughtful product design.
- Partner with Account Management to deliver meaningful analytics and recommendations that strengthen client relationships.
- Provide thought leadership in pricing methodology and actuarial analytics both externally and internally.
- Collaborate with IT to develop robust rate infrastructures and automate processes for scalability.
- Participate in key pricing discussions with VP and C-level executives and act as a trusted advisor to senior management.
- Provide technical guidance to Actuarial Analysts and other members of the Risk Management team.
- Proficiently manage complex projects from inception to delivery.
What We're Looking For
- Undergraduate degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics/Decision Science, Mathematics, or a related analytical field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance.
- Passage of at least five SOA/CAS actuarial exams with intent to sit for future exams.
- Significant experience with Microsoft Excel, familiarity with SQL, and ability to use both to analyze and interpret data.
- Experience with the creation and maintenance of relational databases.
- Excellent and effective communication and presentation skills.
- Initiative and drive necessary to succeed in an entrepreneurial environment.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. and able to pass a background check.
Nice to Have
- Prior insurance or auto industry experience, management/strategy consulting experience, or prior work as a business, financial, or operational analyst.
- Experience with modeling software (R, EMB, Earnix, etc.) or Tableau.
