The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is hiring an Accounting Technician II within the Child Support Services Section of the Division of Social Services. In this role, you will be responsible for processing financial adjustment requests and ensuring financial accountability for child support services, providing direct services that address issues of poverty, family violence, and exploitation.
What You'll Do
- Process adjustment requests from local child support offices and the Centralized Collection Agency.
- Identify, distribute, and track all adjustment requests.
- Research and reverse errors, entering data into the Automated Collections and Tracking System (ACTS).
- Process financial reports.
What We're Looking For
- An Associate’s degree in Accounting from an appropriately accredited institution and one year of accounting experience; or a High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and three years of experience in accounting work; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Nice to Have
- Experience with researching financial transactions.
- Experience with Microsoft Office or similar software.
- Experience processing financial reports.
