Accounting Team Leader
Oversee the preparation and integrity of financial statements for the Global Supply Chain Division, ensuring alignment with U.S. GAAP and internal accounting policies. You will manage a team of five accountants handling general ledger responsibilities, guiding them through period-end close activities and ongoing reporting requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and validate financial statements and close packages for accuracy and completeness
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company procedures across all reporting activities
- Supervise timely balance sheet reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
- Analyze profit and loss data to identify variances from budget, forecast, and prior periods
- Support internal stakeholders with financial insights and respond to audit inquiries
- Guarantee on-time delivery of financial reports to operations and finance teams
- Verify and distribute periodic profit-sharing calculations to franchisees
- Communicate changes in accounting practices and staffing updates across supply chain functions
- Train and develop team members to strengthen internal talent pipelines
- Conduct performance evaluations in line with organizational guidelines
- Collaborate with accounting leadership to align team activities with broader objectives
- Support SOX compliance, including documentation, testing, and audit readiness
- Update process narratives, policies, and procedures as needed
- Lead team participation in system testing for upgrades and new implementations
- Assist with regulatory compliance efforts related to extended producer responsibility in Canada and select U.S. states
- Respond to various financial data requests as they arise
Leadership & Collaboration
You will directly supervise one Accountant II and four Accountant I roles, providing guidance, feedback, and growth opportunities. Coordinate closely with senior accounting staff to maintain consistency and accuracy across financial reporting functions.
