GitLab is looking for an Accounting Manager to lead our day-to-day accounting operations and support the month-end close process. You will be a key partner in scaling our financial infrastructure, ensuring GAAP compliance, and building scalable processes to support our fast-paced growth.
What You'll Do
- Assist in managing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close activities, including the preparation of financial statements, consolidations, flux analytics, and KPI metrics.
- Provide technical accounting expertise to ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and perform special technical assessments.
- Help develop and execute deliverables, and manage external auditors and other professional service providers.
- Evaluate and continually improve accounting procedures, processes, and systems to ensure standardized, efficient operations and a robust control environment.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support accurate accounting and reporting.
- Lead and mentor junior accounting staff or outsourced partners as needed.
- Evaluate and help implement accounting systems, tools, and automation processes for scalability.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree and/or Master's in Accounting or Finance.
- CPA license.
- 6-8 years of progressive accounting experience.
- 3+ years in public accounting (Big 4 or regional firm preferred).
- Experience in a high-growth startup or technology company.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting.
- Proven ability to thrive in dynamic, ambiguous, and fast-changing environments.
- Experience with accounting software; NetSuite preferred.
- Exceptional attention to detail, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a collaborative mindset.
