About the Role
The Accounting Manager will supervise daily financial activities, manage reporting processes, and support budgeting and forecasting initiatives for a US-based construction organization.
Responsibilities
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close procedures
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable functions
- Ensure compliance with US GAAP and internal accounting policies
- Prepare detailed financial statements and reports
- Manage tax preparation and coordinate with external auditors
- Monitor cash flow and support treasury operations
- Supervise payroll processing and related compliance
- Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules
- Implement and improve internal controls
- Collaborate with project managers on job costing
- Support annual budgeting and forecasting cycles
- Analyze financial variances and provide insights
- Ensure timely filing of federal and state tax returns
- Manage relationships with financial institutions
- Assist in the development of accounting policies and procedures
- Train and mentor junior accounting staff
- Streamline financial processes using accounting software
- Coordinate interdepartmental financial communications
- Track project profitability and financial performance
- Maintain compliance with construction-specific financial regulations
