Planet is looking for an Account Executive – Civil Government (EU Institutions & Northern Europe) to develop strategic relationships and drive revenue across civil government entities, public agencies, and policy-driven organizations. You will use curiosity, creativity, and a problem-solving mindset to understand customer needs and co-create solutions that align technical capabilities with policy objectives.
What You'll Do
- Own and grow a portfolio of civil government accounts across Northern Europe and EU institutions, from pipeline generation to deal closure.
- Build trusted relationships with ministries, national agencies, space agencies, and public bodies.
- Manage complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles, including public tenders, RFPs, and framework agreements.
- Develop account strategies aligned with policy objectives, regulatory constraints, and public-sector budget cycles.
- Coordinate internal teams to deliver compliant and compelling proposals.
- Work with partners and system integrators when required to support government programs.
- Maintain accurate pipeline, forecasting, and account plans in CRM.
- Represent the company at European conferences, workshops, and institutional meetings.
What We're Looking For
- 6+ years in B2G or public sector sales.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- Ability to close complex, high-value, multi-year deals.
- Solid understanding of public procurement processes, including tenders and framework agreements.
- Excellent negotiation skills and experience managing contract and pricing discussions.
- Ability to manage long sales cycles while maintaining momentum and stakeholder engagement.
- Solid curiosity and problem-solving mindset to deeply understand customer challenges and policy objectives.
- Experience selling technology, data, SaaS, or geospatial / EO solutions to government customers.
- Solid understanding of how public institutions operate, including policy-driven decision making.
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical government audiences.
- Confidence in engaging senior stakeholders, including directors and decision-makers.
- Solid cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Professional working proficiency in English, the language of the company.
Nice to Have
- Experience working with or selling into Northern European markets. Cultural understanding of public-sector governance in these regions.
- Knowledge of the European space ecosystem, including ESA and Copernicus-related programs.
- Familiarity with European institutions.
