About the Role

Vertiv Group Corporation seeks an Account Director to spearhead business development with our strategic IT Alliance accounts across the EMEA region. In this key strategic growth role, you will own and be responsible for all product and service sales through named strategic IT hardware manufacturers, driving significant revenue expansion.

What You'll Do

  • Manage and motivate a regional sales team to achieve and exceed planned revenue targets.
  • Execute a business strategy to target strong, sustainable YoY double-digit growth, focusing on multi-line-of-business sales.
  • Utilize reporting platforms to facilitate pipeline discipline and growth across all named customers in EMEA.
  • Increase Vertiv’s market share and meet or exceed budget numbers for Orders, Sales, and GM/EBITDA.
  • Develop contacts and nurture strong relationships with stakeholders at the EMEA level to drive revenue expansion.
  • Establish OEM trading relationships and activate IT Alliance preferred partners to bolster growth.
  • Work with regional sales teams to optimize account coverage and strengthen localized support.
  • Proactively collaborate with marketing on targeted campaigns to maximize visibility and nurture leads.
  • Work with accounts to develop new sector opportunities and jointly prospect end-user customers.
  • Provide thorough reporting on orders by line of business, win rates, conversion rates, and pipeline quality.
  • Actively coordinate and develop account plans, regularly updating them and sharing insights.
  • Engage with account teams at EMEA or global levels to support footprint expansion.
  • Lead by example and drive the continued evolution of the sales force through OneCode initiatives.
  • Foster a culture of accountability and ownership to increase operational efficiency.
  • Ensure all sales activities follow Vertiv guidelines for International Trade Compliance.

What We're Looking For

  • A degree in electrical or mechanical engineering or equivalent.
  • A strong product and services sales background with extensive experience in critical support product applications.
  • Strong experience with key account management and dealing with large blue-chip enterprise, commercial, and industrial customers.
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills.
  • Basic legal and advanced business knowledge.
  • Strong selling, influencing, negotiating, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills at all levels.
  • Ability to work proactively on your own initiative and within a team.
  • A driven, competitive achiever.
  • Ability to represent Vertiv successfully at meetings.
  • Ability to recognize and recommend tactical market shifts.
  • Ability to evaluate sales contributions, set targets, and motivate a local sales team.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Numerate and IT literate with an in-depth understanding of business performance.
  • The ability to work under pressure and to agreed timescales.
  • A self-starter with the ability to plan, organise, and manage time effectively.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • A valid driving license.

Nice to Have

  • Previous working experience in Server Vendors as a Business Development Manager or in a sales role.

Team & Environment

You will work closely with the geographical region Vertiv sales team and report directly to the EMEA Sales Director.

Work Mode

This is a remote position open to candidates located within the EMEA region.
