Samsung Semiconductor Europe is hiring a Working Student - Field Application Engineering (Onsite/Munich based)

About the Role

As a Working Student in Field Application Engineering for Graphics and Multimedia, you'll play a key role in supporting the deployment and maintenance of complex software systems. Based in Munich, you'll work onsite at least two days per week, collaborating with engineers to debug and resolve technical challenges across software and hardware components.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deploy software solutions and provide technical support to identify and fix issues in both development and testing environments
  • Quickly build software prototypes to validate concepts, demonstrate functionality, and replicate technical problems
  • Work within unfamiliar codebases and adapt to new tools and frameworks efficiently
  • Set up, manage, and maintain software and lab systems used for performance evaluation, testing, and debugging

Qualifications

You are currently enrolled in a full-time Computer Science, Information Technology, or Software Engineering program, having completed at least two years of study. You bring hands-on experience in software development with proficiency in languages such as C, C++, Python, or C#.

Essential skills include command-line use of version control systems like git or repo, solid understanding of Linux environments (both as user and developer), and a proven ability to solve problems analytically. Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset are important for success in this role.

Preferred Experience

  • Android application development
  • Familiarity with graphics APIs such as OpenGL ES or Vulkan
  • Experience with GUI frameworks including Qt or Avalonia
  • Background in Linux kernel development
  • Work with the Android Open-Source Project (AOSP)
