GE HealthCare is hiring a Wind Hub Technician - NE 2 (Neligh, NE Area)

About the Role

GE HealthCare is seeking a Wind Hub Technician based in the Neligh, NE area to ensure the optimal function and output of wind turbine generators. You'll partner with site leadership to execute contractual requirements, focusing on turbine operations, safety, quality control, and warranty repairs while adhering to GE standards.

What You'll Do

  • Work with site and hub leadership to execute contractual obligations, including work on electrical and mechanical turbine equipment.
  • Perform maintenance, repair, or part replacement to correct malfunctions.
  • Troubleshoot complex mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical problems on variable pitch and variable speed turbines.
  • Assist in all areas of site operations as directed by manager with minimal supervision, observing all safety requirements.
  • Perform diagnostic electrical analysis.
  • Document all work performed using computer-based service reporting procedures.
  • Work with and respond to GE’s remote operations center when necessary.

What We're Looking For

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience as a Wind Technician/Wind Mechanic, OR completed Wind Certificate Program/Associates Degree in Energy, OR minimum of 2 years of electrical work experience.
  • Passing a Technical Knowledge Assessment.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to handle repetitive weight of 50 lbs and climb towers up to 300 feet daily.
  • Meet specified manufacturer weight limits not to exceed 300lbs including required gear.
  • Ability and willingness to work in industrial, manufacturing, and power industry facilities.
  • Effectively prioritize work according to contract obligations.
  • Ability to take initiative and work without direct supervision.
  • Flexibility to work rotating shift schedules and be on-call per site needs.
  • Willingness to travel for occasional overnights per hub needs.

Nice to Have

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in a Technical, Electrical, or Electronics field from an accredited college.
  • Technical Certification in Wind Energy or Electrical/Electronic field.
  • Ability to work with a wide variety of personnel at all levels inside and outside of the Wind Farm.
  • Wind turbine experience.
  • Electrical, mechanical, and/or hydraulic experience.
  • Experience using hydraulic power tools.
  • Experience with heavy equipment for facility maintenance and a working knowledge of crane and rigging requirements.

Partners and communicates with the Site Lead and Manager.
