Henry Ford College (MI) is looking for a Web Software Developer to create, maintain, and implement software packages for our websites. In this role, you will analyze business needs to design, implement, and iterate on the College’s websites, web applications, and content management systems, working under the general supervision of the Web Architect.
What You'll Do
- Create, build, and implement custom configuration and code for HFC’s Drupal websites using HTML, CSS, PHP, MySQL, JavaScript, git, and related technologies.
- Assist team members in handling day-to-day website maintenance tasks.
- Perform troubleshooting, debugging, and analysis.
- Analyze, develop, enhance, code, test, document, and implement system modifications.
- Document the scope and functional flow of websites and applications.
- Research third-party products and systems and plan for integration into existing web and College IT infrastructure.
- May provide user support for Microsoft SharePoint and other web-based platforms.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education, expertise, and experience.
- Knowledge of Drupal or other web CMS systems.
- Proficiency in HTML, CSS, PHP, JavaScript, and related technologies.
- Proficiency with MySQL / MariaDB and similar database management systems.
- Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and analysis skills.
- Familiarity with accessibility standards (WCAG), tools, equipment, and technologies.
- Team orientation that thrives in a collaborative environment and can also succeed working independently.
- Must provide examples of prior individual work demonstrating a clear understanding of Object-Oriented PHP development.
- Must provide examples of ability to learn quickly and grasp an understanding of new technologies to complete assignments.
