SEO Sherpa is hiring a Web Developer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for planning and executing website improvements and updates for a portfolio of client websites. You will integrate closely with our SEO and paid search teams to implement performance recommendations and maintain optimum site health, directly contributing to organic traffic and revenue growth.

What You'll Do

Plan and execute delivery of website improvements and updates.
Execute speed optimization, user experience improvements, custom tracking scripts, and landing page builds.
Implement performance recommendations on client websites from SEO and paid search teams.
Deploy technical improvements and customizations on various CMSs including WordPress, Shopify, Magento, and custom builds.
Track and fix website health issues as they arise.
Maintain optimum site health and superior functionality, UX, and performance for clients.
Be accountable for a portfolio of websites with regular monitoring and maintenance to ensure performance and minimize errors/downtime.

What We're Looking For

A verifiable, proven track record of customizing, updating, and maintaining web-standard CMSs like WordPress, WooCommerce, Shopify, Magento, and others.
Serious developer chops with backend and frontend technologies, experienced with Javascript frontend frameworks/SPAs and emerging technologies.
Ability to create well-documented, reusable code for website improvements, custom theme development, plugin creation, and automation.
Knowledge of SEO fundamentals and trends.
Concise and effective communication skills for writing emails, Slack messages, and client recommendations.
Eagerness to share strategic opinions and recommendations.
Superior problem-solving skills to tackle complex problems and translate them into actionable solutions.
Ability to work with urgency, organize and prioritize work, and meet deadlines without micromanagement.
Proactive problem-solving, anticipating hiccups and providing solutions.
Ability to work in a rapid-paced environment and move quickly.
A proven successful track record of working on sites ranging from a few hundred pages to hundreds of thousands of URLs.
