First Community Credit Union is hiring a VP of Application Development to provide key leadership and direction for all aspects of the Application Department. In this role, you will ensure operational efficiency, quality of member service, and compliance through the successful delivery of technology projects.
What You'll Do
- Work with team members to review and roll out new code changes to production environments.
- Oversee coding changes for frontend and backend teams, including the Power On language for Symitar, the public website, custom digital banking pages, and the company intranet.
- Implement necessary changes to member-facing web content with a firm knowledge of web security.
- Perform the Admin Role within the GitLab platform, configure group projects, and push code to different environments.
- Utilize work management software like Monday.dev to document epics, issues, and bugs, manage staffing resources and project timelines, and communicate problems to meet deadlines.
- Maintain the Software Development Lifecycle Policy and ensure department procedures are current and followed.
- Maintain a database of development projects, including descriptions of functionality, third-party interactions, servers, databases, and security protocols.
- Diagnose programming problems and recommend and implement solutions, applying technical and analytical skills to resolve employee issues through effective programming code.
- Engage in career coaching and the professional development of your team.
- Coordinate the hiring, training, coaching, supervision, and performance evaluations for all Application Development employees.
- Communicate collaboratively with Human Resources regarding human resource issues, including disciplinary processes.
- Lead staff meetings and conduct group and individual training sessions as needed.
- Maintain a deep, current understanding of laws, regulations, and regulatory guidance related to compliance and credit union operations.

- A Bachelor's degree in a related field and four years of work experience, or seven years of commensurate work experience.

- Knowledge and familiarity with: PHP, MYSQL, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery, AJAX, Web Services (SOAP, REST), and Source Control.
- Ability to exercise sound judgement while making timely decisions.
- Regular, predictable attendance and active participation in required meetings.

Team & Environment
