As the Associate Director, Field Reimbursement, you will play a key role in ensuring patients receive timely access to prescribed long-acting injectable treatments by addressing reimbursement and coverage obstacles. You will serve as a trusted resource for healthcare providers and administrative staff, equipping them with the knowledge and tools to navigate payer policies and billing requirements successfully.
Key Responsibilities
- Educate provider offices on payer coverage rules, coding requirements, and pathways for therapy acquisition to reduce delays in treatment initiation.
- Empower clinical teams to independently manage reimbursement workflows after prescribing, improving long-term access sustainability.
- Identify systemic barriers to implementation at customer sites and lead cross-functional efforts to resolve them efficiently.
- Develop action-oriented plans with clear next steps, assigned owners, and timelines to drive resolution of access challenges.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to align strategies and execute unified solutions for high-priority accounts.
- Provide escalation support for complex reimbursement cases, ensuring patients are not denied access due to administrative hurdles.
Qualifications and Experience
A bachelor’s degree is required, along with at least five years of experience in pharmaceutical reimbursement, specialty product support, payer marketing, or patient support programs. Familiarity with J and Q codes, billing protocols, and specialty distribution channels is essential. The ideal candidate has deep understanding of Medicare Parts B, C, and D, Medicaid, and commercial insurance frameworks.
Experience in buy-and-bill environments and with specialty pharmacy networks or reimbursement HUBs is highly valued. You must be skilled at translating complex healthcare systems into clear guidance for non-specialists and have a proven ability to influence and educate provider teams. Strong problem-solving, relationship management, and independent execution capabilities are critical.
This role requires travel of 50% or more, primarily within the U.S., to engage directly with provider offices and internal partners. The successful candidate will thrive in a fast-moving, mission-driven environment committed to advancing equitable, patient-centered care.
