The Nebraska Department of Correctional Services (NDCS) is hiring four Video Surveillance Analysts for its Central Intelligence Unit (CIU) at the Tecumseh State Correctional Institution. As an analyst, you will monitor incarcerated individuals primarily through video surveillance to detect potential threats and provide critical safety overwatch. You will be assigned under Central Office to support a specific facility but must be available to respond to intelligence emergencies at any NDCS location.
What You'll Do
- Monitor incarcerated individuals primarily through video surveillance systems, as well as via phone, mail, and video visits, to identify potential threats.
- Provide safety overwatch, engage with staff for situational awareness, and respond directly to threats identified on camera.
- Document inmate behavior, status, and movement observed on surveillance to enforce facility regulations.
- Provide and evaluate on-the-job training for new analysts joining the team.
- Work with the intelligence team to prioritize tasks, gather video intelligence, and understand threat indicators and cultural trends.
- Be available to respond to any NDCS facility for emergency intelligence operations.
What We're Looking For
- At least 18 years of age.
- High school education or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license.
- Must be able to legally possess a firearm and ammunition.
Nice to Have
- Minimum of two years of correctional experience.
- Experience working with video surveillance systems and communication equipment.
- Experience in identifying threats and trends in a correctional setting.
- Experience or knowledge of both street and prison gangs.
- Experience in assessing threat potential, gathering intelligence, and communicating responses in a correctional threat environment.
- Experience in documenting specific actions and contributing factors in response to threats or incidents.
