Responsibilities
- Monitor incarcerated individuals primarily through video surveillance systems, but also via phone, mail, and video visits for potential threats.
- Provide safety overwatch, engage with staff for situational awareness, and respond to threats identified on cameras.
- Document inmate behavior, status, and movement observed on surveillance to enforce facility regulations.
- Provide and evaluate on-the-job training for new analysts.
- Work with the intelligence team to prioritize tasks, gather video intelligence, and understand threat indicators and cultural trends.
- Be available to respond to any NDCS facility for emergency intelligence operations.
Requirements
- At least 18 years of age
- High school education or equivalent
- Valid driver's license
- Must be able to legally possess a firearm and ammunition
Nice to Have
- Minimum of two years correctional experience
- Experience working with video surveillance systems and communication equipment
- Experience in identifying threats and trends in a correctional setting
- Experience or knowledge of both street and prison gangs
- Experience in assessing threat potential, gathering intelligence, communicating responses of others in the threat environment in a correctional setting
- Experience in documenting specific actions and contributing factors in response to threats or incidents

Additional Information
- Must have a valid driver's license
- May be required to work after hours during facility emergencies
- May be required to provide coverage at other NDCS facilities

- Pre-employment exams: medical exam and randomly announced drug test
- Must successfully complete the NE Corrections Training Program at the Staff Training Academy
