About the Role
This position leads legal strategy and oversight for the infectious disease franchise, providing counsel on regulatory compliance, product development, commercialization, and corporate governance matters.
Responsibilities
- Lead legal strategy for the development and commercialization of infectious disease therapies
- Advise on regulatory requirements and compliance with healthcare laws
- Negotiate and draft agreements related to clinical trials, collaborations, and partnerships
- Support regulatory submissions and interactions with health authorities
- Provide legal guidance on intellectual property matters in coordination with external counsel
- Oversee legal aspects of product labeling, marketing, and promotional materials
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including R&D, regulatory affairs, and commercial operations
- Manage litigation risk and coordinate with outside counsel when necessary
- Ensure compliance with corporate governance standards and board reporting obligations
- Guide due diligence activities for potential business development opportunities
- Advocate for legal best practices in fast-paced, innovation-driven environments
- Monitor evolving legislation and regulations impacting biopharmaceutical development
- Support internal policy development and training on legal and compliance topics
- Oversee contract lifecycle management for key franchise activities
- Serve as a strategic advisor to senior leadership on risk mitigation
- Maintain alignment with enterprise legal and compliance frameworks
- Escalate critical legal issues to General Counsel and executive leadership
- Ensure adherence to ethical standards in clinical and commercial operations
- Manage external legal spend efficiently and effectively
- Promote a culture of accountability and regulatory responsibility
