Ruby Labs is seeking a mid-level UX/UI Engineer to join one of our portfolio companies. You will take full ownership of designing and implementing user interfaces using pre-built component libraries. This role is ideal for a frontend engineer who thrives within structured design systems and is dedicated to delivering high-quality, data-driven user experiences.
What You'll Do
- Design web interfaces using pre-built components like NextUI, HeroUI, and Tailwind.
- Ensure consistency, usability, and accessibility across all designs.
- Create wireframes and layouts based on structured design principles.
- Implement designs using NextUI, HeroUI, and Tailwind CSS on top of Next.js and React.
- Develop and maintain scalable, performant UI and reusable components.
- Ensure cross-browser compatibility and responsiveness.
- Work with product managers to translate data-driven requirements into UI solutions.
- Own the seamless handoff between design and development.
- Maintain high coding standards and efficient workflows.
What We're Looking For
- 2+ years of frontend development experience with Next.js, React, TypeScript, and Tailwind.
- Strong understanding of UI/UX principles and experience working within structured design systems.
- Proven experience with UI component libraries like NextUI or HeroUI.
- Ability to design and structure UI without relying on a dedicated designer.
- Proficiency in HTML & CSS, with a focus on writing clean, maintainable code.
- Familiarity with design tools such as Figma or Visily to work with assets.
- Experience with version control systems (Git).
- A portfolio showcasing at least 5 projects where you handled both UI design and frontend implementation.
Nice to Have
- Experience working with design systems and component-based architecture.
- Background in D2C product development or performance marketing.
- Experience optimizing for accessibility and usability.
