About the Role

Docker is looking for a UX Researcher to focus on understanding and improving the developer experience. You will partner closely with Product Designers, Product Managers, Engineers, and the broader community to identify key areas for improvement and new opportunities.

What You'll Do

  • Plan and conduct exploratory, generative, and evaluative user research.
  • Determine appropriate research methods and define and conduct research across multiple projects.
  • Provide both tactical and strategic insights based on research findings.
  • Communicate insights and recommendations using artifacts such as reports, journey maps, and personas.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Advocate for user needs throughout the entire product development process.
  • Educate the broader team on research best practices and evangelize research methods and results.
  • Contribute to building best practices, processes, training, documentation, and standards to evolve the research discipline.

What We're Looking For

  • Previous exposure to behavioral research methods.
  • Ability to translate data and observations into a compelling story with design recommendations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to present research concepts and insights clearly and persuasively to different audiences.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, agile environment.
  • 2+ years of relevant experience.

Nice to Have

  • Master's or Doctoral degree in behavioral research.
  • Experience as a user experience researcher, human factors practitioner, industrial engineer, cognitive engineer, information architect, or similar role.
  • Engineering background or previous experience working with developer tools.
  • Experience creating repeatable, scalable research methods.
  • Experience with mixed-method research and integrating insights.
  • Knowledge and experience with visual communication and data visualization.
  • Experience building complex products in B2B, B2C, or B2B2C environments.

You will be a member of the UX Research team, partnering directly with Product Designers, Product Managers, and Engineers.
