Shape product direction through deep user understanding in a role that bridges research, analytics, and product development. You'll lead independent research initiatives from scoping to action, ensuring both donor and nonprofit perspectives inform every stage of the product lifecycle.
What You’ll Do
- Drive research projects from planning to impact—define goals, select methods, conduct sessions, analyze findings, and deliver actionable insights.
- Match research approaches to business needs, choosing interviews, usability tests, surveys, or competitive analysis based on timeline, uncertainty, and objectives.
- Own end-to-end logistics: scheduling, tool setup, data collection, and documentation—without needing oversight.
- Collaborate across functions to gather input from Sales, Support, Marketing, and Analytics, transforming team insights into testable research questions.
- Integrate with product analytics—monitor user behavior, identify friction points, and validate hypotheses with qualitative evidence.
- Deliver clear, evidence-based outputs: highlight key decisions, risks, trade-offs, and recommendations supported by quotes, clips, and metrics.
- Stay grounded in existing knowledge—review past research and competitive intelligence before launching new studies.
- Champion user needs in product conversations, ensuring real-world constraints and motivations shape solutions.
What We’re Looking For
- Proven ability to lead research independently with strong methodological judgment.
- Experience across both consumer and business-facing digital products.
- Fluency in English, with confidence in moderating sessions and presenting findings.
- Ability to interpret analytics dashboards, spot trends, and collaborate with data teams.
- Comfort using recruiting platforms and managing participant logistics autonomously.
- Experience applying AI tools to accelerate research tasks while maintaining rigor in analysis and ethics.
- A commitment to continuous learning—tracking internal insights, market shifts, and emerging UX trends to keep the team informed.
- Deep empathy for users, especially those in mission-driven roles, with a respectful, ethical approach to research.
Preferred Background
- NN/g certification or similar training.
- Academic research experience at the graduate or doctoral level.
