Vizrt is hiring an UX Engineer

At Vizrt, we help customers deliver more stories, better told. We are looking for a UX Engineer to join our team in Portugal. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional user interfaces for our video products, developing a deep understanding of customer requirements to improve existing solutions and develop new ones.

What You'll Do

• Deliver exceptional user interfaces that enable customers to meet their creative and production goals.
• Develop a deep understanding of customer requirements and our products.
• Manage UX for a product and take ownership of UX for multiple products or a full product line.
• Accommodate technical constraints during design.
• Prepare prototype designs and mock-ups, and write, present, and maintain functional product specifications.
• Build desktop application GUIs.
• Handle multiple tasks in parallel and adapt to daily business requirements.
• Mediate and understand requirements.
• Balance ease-of-use, functionality, and implementation complexity in product design.

What We're Looking For

• Degree in Computer Science, UX Design, a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of experience as a UX Developer, Web Developer, or equivalent.
• Good understanding of UX design and what drives a positive user experience.
• Significant experience with contemporary UI technologies such as XAML, HTML/CSS, JavaScript, Vue.js, WPF, C# or equivalent.
• Good understanding of web applications including security and best development practices.
• Experience with design and prototyping tools (e.g., Adobe CC, Figma).
• Demonstrated ability to prepare prototype designs and mock-ups, and to write, present, and maintain functional product specifications.
• Experience building desktop application GUIs.
• Proficiency with modern development workflows based on GitHub.
• Ability to think abstractly, creatively, and apply good design principles.
• Excellent communication skills and fluency in English.
• Well-developed listening and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to work in a global environment involving both remote and in-person collaboration.
• Good collaboration skills and ability to mediate and understand requirements.
• Interest in commercial software and hardware product design, and ability to balance ease-of-use, functionality, and implementation complexity.

Nice to Have

• Knowledge related to client/server architectures and network technologies.
• Experience in the media/broadcast industry.
• Experience with cross-platform frameworks (Qt).
• Knowledge of accessibility standards.
