The User Experience Designer Apprentice collaborates with design teams to develop user-focused solutions from concept through launch. This role applies human-centered methods to understand user needs, prototype ideas, and refine experiences in an agile setting.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with UX team members to design and iterate on future user experiences in a fast-paced environment
- Apply human-centered design practices to discover user insights, define challenges, and explore innovative solutions
- Use design thinking to generate and validate concepts through user testing
- Support the planning and execution of user experience research activities
- Develop visuals, prototypes, and supporting documentation to communicate design ideas
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a 2-year community college or technical program for the entire duration of the apprenticeship
- Must submit a design portfolio
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 required
- Pursuing a certification or degree in User Experience Design, Service Design, Design, HCI, Interaction Design, Information Sciences, Psychology, Human Factors, or Computer Science
- Strong abilities in writing, storytelling, and presenting ideas
- Experience with design or prototyping tools such as Figma, Sketch, or InVision
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities
- Demonstrated curiosity and openness to learning new design methods, tools, and processes
