About the Role
The accountant will handle core financial tasks including bookkeeping, tax preparation, and regulatory compliance, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in all deliverables.
Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate financial records for US-based clients
- Prepare federal and state tax filings
- Conduct monthly and annual closing procedures
- Reconcile bank and credit card statements
- Generate financial statements including balance sheets and income reports
- Ensure compliance with US GAAP standards
- Support audits with documentation and data retrieval
- Monitor accounts payable and receivable
- Track expenses and verify invoice accuracy
- Assist in budget preparation and forecasting
- Identify discrepancies in financial data
- Implement internal controls to safeguard assets
- Communicate with clients to resolve accounting issues
- Stay current with changes in tax laws and regulations
- Use accounting software to streamline processes
- Provide timely responses to client inquiries
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information
- Collaborate with team members on cross-functional projects
- Prepare journal entries and adjustments
- Assist in payroll processing when required
- Report financial performance metrics to management
- Organize and archive financial documents
- Support transition of new clients onto accounting systems
