Carbon Health is hiring a Medical Assistant to join our urgent care team. In this onsite role, you'll provide patient care in a fast-paced, paperless clinic environment. What You'll Do
- Perform patient care by taking vitals, patient histories, and triaging.
- Assist with procedures such as incision and drainage, laceration repair, and wound care.
- Administer medications via intradermal, intramuscular, and subcutaneous routes.
- Conduct ear lavages and run EKGs.
- Perform lab testing including urinalysis, urine pregnancy tests, blood glucose, monospot, rapid strep, influenza, and rapid HIV testing.
- Manage front desk and perform receptionist duties as needed.
- Complete training and become certified with the Department of Transportation to perform Urine Drug Screens and Breath Alcohol Tests.
- Clean patient rooms.
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Certification from an accredited Medical Assistant program (except in locations permitted by law for exemption with experience, diploma and/or national certification).
- Current BLS certification.
- Willingness to obtain DOT certification.
Nice to Have
- 1+ years experience as a Medical Assistant.
- Phlebotomy experience.
- Great communication skills.
