The Unity Engineer will independently lead the development and maintenance of mobile game variants tailored for third-party platforms including Netflix, Apple Arcade, and Kindle. This remote contract position requires consistent daily overlap with US Eastern Time and spans through the end of 2026.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain customized versions of existing games for partner platforms, ensuring adherence to technical standards and policies.
- Serve as the sole developer responsible for end-to-end ownership of partnership game variants.
- Integrate new features from internal platforms into external game versions.
- Transition games between different build and release pipelines as needed.
- Update SDKs and dependencies to meet evolving app store and platform compliance requirements.
- Work closely with QA teams to identify, prioritize, and resolve bugs to support reliable releases.
- Oversee the deployment and release of game updates across app stores.
- Occasionally adapt games for new platforms, such as porting from standalone to Netflix.
- Support broader tech team initiatives with occasional contributions to shared tasks.
Requirements
- Minimum of seven years of professional software development experience.
- Strong written and spoken English communication skills.
- Proficiency in C# and object-oriented programming principles.
- Proven experience using Unity to develop cross-platform mobile applications.
- Hands-on experience integrating third-party SDKs and APIs.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, troubleshoot complex issues, and deliver stable builds.
- Consistent practice of proactively updating stakeholders on progress and risks.
Nice to Have
- Prior experience deploying apps to platforms such as Netflix, Apple Arcade, or Kindle.
- Familiarity with app store submission processes and compliance-related updates.
