Amber is hiring an Unity Engineer

Seeking an experienced Unity Engineer to independently manage and maintain mobile game variants for partner platforms including Netflix, Apple Arcade, and Kindle. This full-time remote contract position requires at least five hours of daily overlap with US Eastern Time and spans through the end of 2026.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain mobile game versions tailored for distribution partners, ensuring adherence to platform-specific policies and technical standards.
  • Serve as the sole developer responsible for end-to-end ownership of all partnership game variants.
  • Integrate new features from internal platforms into existing partner versions of games.
  • Migrate games between different build and release pipelines as needed.
  • Update SDKs and third-party dependencies to meet ongoing app store and platform compliance requirements.
  • Work closely with QA teams to identify, prioritize, and resolve bugs to ensure stable and timely releases.
  • Oversee the deployment and release of game updates to various app stores.
  • Occasionally port games to new platforms, such as adapting standalone versions for Netflix.
  • Contribute occasionally to broader technical initiatives handled by the engineering team.

Requirements

  • Minimum of seven years of professional software development experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Proficiency in C# and object-oriented programming principles.
  • Proven experience using Unity to develop mobile applications across multiple platforms.
  • Hands-on experience integrating third-party SDKs and APIs.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, troubleshoot complex technical issues, and deliver stable releases.
  • Consistent practice of proactively updating stakeholders on progress and potential risks.

Nice to Have

  • Prior experience launching applications on platforms such as Netflix, Apple Arcade, Kindle, or similar distribution channels.
  • Experience managing app store submissions and maintaining compliance with platform guidelines.
  • Background in developing or maintaining shared software platforms or SDKs used across multiple products.
  • Familiarity with automated build and release pipelines for mobile applications.
