Allianz Commercial is hiring a Senior Underwriter for its Property Team. In this remote role, you will be responsible for driving the profitability and growth of the Property Line of Business, based in San Francisco, California (with possible consideration for Seattle, Los Angeles, San Diego, or Denver).
What You'll Do
- Underwrite profitable new and renewal accounts to meet targets, negotiating participation, pricing, and terms with brokers.
- Evaluate Natural Catastrophe Accumulation and interpret catastrophe modeling scenarios.
- Ensure contract certainty at inception and utilize global pricing tools effectively.
- Manage policy documentation and administration, ensuring accurate issuance and file maintenance.
- Support the development and execution of regional underwriting strategy, including training and coaching less experienced staff.
- Proactively support new business acquisition and retention, liaising with Market Management.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key brokers, clients, and stakeholders.
What We're Looking For
- Proven track record in underwriting profitable property business, with 3 to 5 years of experience.
- Advanced skills in risk assessment and management, including inherent exposures and natural hazards.
- Intermediate expertise in pricing, market management, and performance analysis.
- Robust understanding of regional/local insurance markets and competitor landscape.
- Intermediate skills in contract drafting and interpretation, with a solid understanding of the legal and regulatory framework.
- Advanced knowledge of policy management and the policy administration life cycle.
- Experience working in a complex, global matrix organization, with a strategic and entrepreneurial mindset.
- A basic understanding of artificial intelligence (AI) and its potential applications in business.
