BW Papersystems is hiring a Traveling Installation Project Manager (TIPM) to manage the complete on-site installation process for manufactured machinery at customer facilities throughout the USA and Canada. You will be accountable for executing project objectives, plans, budgets, and schedules, ensuring a successful transition from factory to operation.
What You'll Do
- Supervise on-site installation efforts to ensure projects meet design specifications, budget, and schedule.
- Coordinate on-site timing and delivery of components to support project completion.
- Work directly with the project team on tasks like machine placement, electrical connections, crew management, scheduling, and engineering.
- Assume responsibility for team productivity, efficient use of materials/equipment, and overall on-site project performance.
- Participate in and document activities such as punch lists, inspections, and safety/quality reviews.
- Provide technical assistance, including interpreting drawings and recommending installation methods.
- Foster and maintain positive relationships with customers and team members.
- Utilize strong problem-solving skills focused on eliminating risk.
- Perform additional assignments as directed by team leadership.
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of field service or project management experience, including leading installation projects.
- Strong organizational skills, accuracy, initiative, and a detail-oriented approach.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Ability to work effectively with assignments given in broad, general terms and objectives.
- Proficient use of a PC, Microsoft Windows, and the Microsoft Office suite.
- Willingness to travel up to 75% of the time to remote sites and stay on location for extended periods.
Nice to Have
- A 2-year technical school or 4-year college engineering degree.
- Prior field service project management experience.
- An outstanding track record of successfully completed assignments and application of sound professional judgment.
