Leidos is hiring a Tivoli Workload Scheduler/AWS Administrator

About the Role

Leidos is looking for a Tivoli Workload Scheduler/AWS Administrator to support our mission-critical infrastructure. You will be responsible for the day-to-day operations, security, and performance of our AWS cloud environment while managing enterprise-level workload scheduling and automation through Tivoli/IBM Workload Scheduler (TWS/IWS). This is a hands-on, operational role where your troubleshooting skills and disciplined execution will ensure the reliability of business-critical batch and cloud-native workflows.

What You'll Do

  • Provision, configure, and maintain AWS resources including EC2, S3, IAM, and VPCs in alignment with the AWS Well-Architected Framework.
  • Perform routine system maintenance, patching, and configuration updates across cloud environments.
  • Operate and support the TWS/IWS platform, including job stream monitoring, dependency management, and agent health checks.
  • Ensure reliable execution of daily and intraday production workloads and monitor batch processes for successful completion.
  • Implement scheduling solutions for application teams and follow enterprise change management processes.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve job failures, scheduling conflicts, and dependency issues.
  • Assist with workload automation platform maintenance activities and enforce least-privilege access controls using AWS IAM.
  • Monitor and remediate security findings using tools such as AWS Security Hub and support audit and compliance requirements.
  • Triage, diagnose, and resolve incidents involving AWS infrastructure and failed or delayed scheduling batches, escalating complex issues appropriately.
  • Identify performance bottlenecks and implement auto-scaling, scheduling adjustments, or script improvements to enhance performance and control costs.
  • Maintain, test, and document backup and disaster recovery strategies for AWS resources and TWS databases, participating in recovery exercises.
  • Deploy and manage TWS agents on EC2 instances and support cloud-native workflow triggers using AWS Lambda or Step Functions.
  • Manage file-based dependencies leveraging Amazon S3 and create, modify, and maintain job definitions, calendars, and scheduling resources.
  • Perform TWS patch upgrades and maintain integrations with enterprise monitoring tools such as IBM Tivoli Monitoring.

What We're Looking For

  • A Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field, with 4–6 years of experience in IT operations or infrastructure support roles. Additional years of experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.
  • At least 1 year of hands-on AWS administration experience with limited supervision.
  • An understanding of workload automation concepts including job dependencies, workstations, and job streams.
  • Ability to analyze logs and diagnose technical issues.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a public trust clearance.
  • All candidates supporting the CMS programs must have lived in the United States at least three (3) out of the last five (5) years prior.
  • AWS Certified SysOps Administrator – Associate certification.
  • Understanding of TWS distributed architecture, including Master Domain Manager (MDM), Dynamic Workload Console (DWC), and Agents.

Nice to Have

  • Proficiency in Linux/Unix environments.
  • Strong scripting skills using Python and/or Bash.
  • Experience with automation and configuration tools such as Ansible or AWS CloudFormation.
  • Experience with event driven scheduling and file transfer automation (SFTP/FTP).
  • Experience supporting 24/7 enterprise environments.
  • Clear operational discipline with attention to detail and the ability to work effectively in a production support environment with on-call or after-hours responsibilities.
  • Clear communication skills and the ability to collaborate with infrastructure, application, and automation teams.

Technical Stack

  • AWS: EC2, S3, IAM, VPC, Lambda, Step Functions, Security Hub
  • Scheduling: Tivoli/IBM Workload Scheduler (TWS/IWS)
  • OS/Scripting: Linux/Unix, Python, Bash
  • Automation/Infrastructure: Ansible, AWS CloudFormation, IBM Tivoli Monitoring
