Within the Product Engineering (PE) division at SAP Software Solutions, the Enterprise Cloud Services (ECS) Delivery Technical Operations team runs the HANA Enterprise Cloud (HEC). As a Server Management Technology Consultant, you will provide infrastructure support and services, operating SAP's backend technology and global datacenter operations.
What You'll Do
- Handle Incidents, Alerts, and Service Requests end-to-end.
- Deliver and maintain complex SAP landscapes by providing technical expertise and support.
- Plan, set up, implement, and operate SAP technologies to achieve ambitious SLAs.
- Conceptually design, configure, and administer server landscapes with a focus on Linux.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, OS, application, and database issues impacting the business.
- Manage daily operations to ensure high availability.
- Create proper documentation, define technical operational concepts, and roll out knowledge to the team.
- Coordinate with international teams in global projects, crisis handling, and de-escalation initiatives.
- Specialize in one area (Basis/application, OS, or Database) while being cross-trained in all.
What We're Looking For
- BE / BTech / MCA from a reputable institute.
- 5+ years of work experience in Linux administration.
- IT experience with network services like DNS, LDAP, Samba, sFTP, Sendmail, Postfix.
- Experience on at least one public cloud provider (Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Platform).
- Understanding of NFS, BlockDevice, and RAID concepts.
- Scripting experience in Shell, Perl, Python, Go, or similar.
- Working experience in Virtualization (XEN, VMware).
- Experience with OS monitoring, backup/restore, and configuration automation technologies like Chef.
- Proven ability to work effectively with international and virtual teams.
- Skill in technical documentation and creating knowledge-based assets.
- Ability to proactively and independently acquire new knowledge.
- Analytical and solution-oriented thinking.
- Basic knowledge in Network and Storage.
- Exposure to the ITIL framework.
Nice to Have
- Basic knowledge in one or more: Content Server, Convergent Charging, MDM, GK Software, OpenText, SAP Cloud Connector, TOMCAT, IIS, IDM, SCM Optimizer, SAP Mobile Platform, TREX, Business Connector.
- Work experience as a Technical SAP NetWeaver Consultant (ABAP and Java Basis Administration).
- Working knowledge in Business Object Products (BOBI, BODS).
- Working knowledge in UNIX/Linux environment, HANA DB and Sybase ASE databases.
