ALTEN is hiring a Test and Validation Engineer

ALTEN seeks a Test and Validation Engineer to ensure the performance and reliability of automotive electronic control units. In this role, you'll focus on Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testing for embedded systems, validating ECUs against stringent specifications.

What You'll Do

• Design and develop test cases to validate automotive ECUs and subsystems on HIL platforms.
• Execute validation campaigns to ensure compliance with system requirements and specifications.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues with HIL benches to ensure smooth testing operations.
• Update simulation models and test scenarios to reflect evolving system requirements.
• Develop automated test scripts using tools like Python, CAPL, or MATLAB.
• Integrate test cases into CI/CD pipelines for efficient testing workflows.
• Analyze test results to identify issues in software or hardware performance.
• Provide detailed test reports covering test coverage, defect trends, and validation status.
• Validate communication protocols such as CAN, LIN, FlexRay, and Ethernet.
• Ensure all testing complies with automotive standards like ISO 26262, ASPICE, and OEM guidelines.

What We're Looking For

• A Master’s degree (BAC+5) from an engineering school specializing in embedded systems.
• Successful experience in test and validation on HIL benches.
• Knowledge of automotive functionalities is required.
• Hands-on experience with HIL testing tools like dSPACE, Vector CANoe, NI VeriStand, or ETAS.
• Proficiency in automotive communication protocols (CAN, LIN, UDS, FlexRay) and related tools.
• Strong knowledge of test scripting languages like Python, CAPL, or MATLAB/Simulink.
• Familiarity with electrical and electronic systems in vehicles, including sensors, actuators, and ECUs.
• Experience in developing and executing validation test plans.
• Ability to analyze system behavior and diagnose root causes of defects.
• Strong English communication skills.
