Corning, a leading innovator in glass, ceramic, and materials science, is seeking a Metrology Technician to join our GG Development Metrology QA & Test team. You will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, reliability, and performance of our glass stress metrology systems used in production and development.
What You'll Do
- Perform system quality assurance and GR&Rs to verify hardware and software integrity.
- Conduct system calibrations, validations, routine maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, repairs, and upgrades.
- Develop and execute software QA test plans for functionality, performance, regression, and security.
- Identify, characterize, document, and report bugs to the software team.
- Develop and maintain calibration and measurement standard operating procedures.
- Analyze business and user needs to identify opportunities for metrology hardware, software, and process improvements.
- Provide technical support and training to engineers, scientists, and technicians.
What We're Looking For
- A two-year technical degree from an accredited institution OR 3+ years of work experience in engineering, skilled trades, or a related technical field.
- Hands-on experience troubleshooting, repairing, and upgrading metrology systems.
- Proficiency in analyzing complex systems to identify and resolve technical issues.
- Familiarity with software QA and bug tracking tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for reporting, training, and collaboration.
- Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
