Chime is hiring a Technical Writer (Remote in South Africa)

Chime is hiring a Technical Writer to create and maintain high-quality articles, tutorial videos, and product UI text supporting KnowBe4’s products, features, and services. This role is remote within South Africa.

What You'll Do

• Interview subject-matter experts (Product Managers, Engineers, Marketing Managers) to gather information for technical documentation.
• Work with Product Managers to develop or review text for product UI.
• Attend project meetings to represent the Product Writing team and capture product changes.
• Create and maintain technical documentation and tutorial video scripts for customers.
• Act as a subject-matter expert and peer reviewer for projects in your assigned areas.
• Respond to internal requests for documentation additions or updates.
• Manage projects, track documentation changes, and collaborate during product development using Jira.
• Ensure quality, accuracy, consistency, and clarity within our knowledge base and tutorial videos.
• Track product and service updates in our change log and release notes.
• Partner with AI tools to improve efficiency and speed in your daily tasks.

What We're Looking For

• Minimum 1 year of experience in technical writing or process creation.
• Experience using AI technology (such as Gemini) to improve efficiency with day-to-day tasks.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, grammar, spelling, sentence structure, and proofreading skills.
• Ability to present and break down complex technical concepts in an easy-to-understand manner.
• Self-motivated with excellent time management and organization skills.
• Ability to write collaboratively or independently.
• Ability to adjust to shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with writing English for a global audience.

Nice to Have

• Bachelor’s Degree (Technical Communication, English, or related field preferred).
• Minimum 1 year of experience in UX writing.
• Basic knowledge of HTML.
• Knowledge of Zendesk, Google Docs, and Jira.
• Experience with Agile software development methodology.
